Navjot Singh S/o Sukhbir Singh an unmarried / unemployed youth in
his 26’s is a resident of Village Singhpura Marlia, Jammu (J&K) and
belongs to a minority community. Though it was difficult to run the 6
members family with the low income of his father who worked as a 4th
class employee in police department, looking at his zeal and eagerness to
study, he encouraged him to continue his education. After completion of
his graduation, his parents were on the look-out for a suitable match for
him and his 2 younger sisters.
On 25th February 2014 Novjot Singh came to know about the scheme of Seekhoo Aur Kamaoo of
Ministry of Minority Affairs GOI, at NITT through newspaper . At that point, he felt that he
should undergo the training which will help him and his family to stand on his feet. He then enquire
about the scheme Seekhoo Aur Kamaoo at NITT, Jammu Centre and enrolled himself for Tally
course training programme. Immediately after the completion of the course, he got placement as an
assistant accountant with decent salary. And he also qualify the Assessor Competency Evaluation
Test at NVTI Noida. Now at present he is working with SEDS Skill Assessing Body as
Assessors under Skill Development Inactivate scheme and earning 20000/= plus per month. Novjot’s
parents immensely feel proud of their own soner and are thankful to NITT team for the support.
