of 2 Kids an divorced women age 31 years is resident of Surankot District
Poonch, (Border Area) of Jammu & Kashmir and belongs to a minority
community where women are restricted to go out for work. Though it was
difficult to run the family with the meager income of her father who worked
as a Labour, looking at her zeal and eagerness to feed up her kids study, he
encouraged her to continue the education of her children’s. Her parents were
on the look-out for a remarriage suitable match.
One day, Shazia’s father came to know about the Scheme of Seekhoo Aur Kamaoo through
newspaper and one of his friend in community. At that point, he felt that Shazia should
undergo the training which will help her to stand on her feet. He then insisted her to enquire
about the Seekhoo Aur Kamaoo training programme following which she visited NITT
Poonch Centre and enrolled herself for Garment making (Fashion Designing ) course.
Immediately after the completion of the course, she started her own boutique at Surankot with
the help of Stipend amount and NITT had also provide her a Sewing machine. Now at present
she is earning a handsome amount per month near about Rs.15000/ per month. Shaiza’s
parents immensely feel proud of their own daughter and are thankful to NITT team for the
support. Her father and children are especially proud of her achievements. Now, Shazia is
experiencing a more fulfilled life. She is active in raising awareness about the number of
opportunities/ schemes that can arise from pursuing skilled based education.
